biologists and a few others to look at the Adelie rookeries. It was about a 2km walk, and excellent to be off the ship and getting some exercise, dodging some inquisitive penguins on the way.
The 3km long diesel fuel line was laid out over the ice to resupply Davis Station with its year's supply of fuel - 595,000 litres. This takes about 36 hours to pump.
